Economic crises are periods of high risk for mental health and well-being. However, societies can be more or less resistant to the potential negative effects of recessions depending on the policies they adopt. The Gulbenkian Forum on Mental Health “Socioeconomic crises and mental health – from research to action”, which will be held in a country particularly affected by the economic crises, will bring together the leading world experts on the impact of social determinants on mental ill-health and on population-based strategies to promote mental health. The aims of this 2-day Forum are to update the evidence on the effects of the economic crisis on mental health of the populations, to discuss the strategies that can be adopted to minimize the increased mental health risks of economic crisis, and to draw recommendations to Portugal and other countries interested in implementing these strategies.
You are cordially invited to attend this Forum. Admission is free, but please register here.
